Class Information
Class cost includes all necessary materials and tools, including glass cutting equipment and use of kiln or instructor firing time (unless noted)
A large selection of stained and/or compatible glass is provided for students to use. Patterns are provided; students are also encouraged to use their own patterns and ideas.
Minimum age – 16 (unless noted)
Appropriate clothing is long pants and closed toe shoes. No open toe shoes please
No prior experience is required (unless noted)

| Beginning Fusing – The
Basics and Beyond |
| Work with float
and “fusible” glass in this comprehensive
class. Learn how to develop (successful)
firing schedules for different
types, sizes, and thicknesses
of glass. Projects include; 2
different studies in tile form,
a slumped piece, a drop out piece
and a combed piece. Techniques
for using accessory glass (frit/stringers)
and non-glass inclusions (copper/mica);
also mold making and design will
be covered. This is a very hands
on class - the objective is that
every student (have fun) AND walk
out of this class with the knowledge
and confidence to fuse glass in
their own studio. This class is
essential for beginners and beneficial
for those with glass experience. |
