General Class Information

Class cost includes all necessary materials and tools, including glass cutting equipment and use of kiln or instructor firing time (unless noted)

A large selection of stained and/or compatible glass is provided for students to use. Patterns are provided; students are also encouraged to use their own patterns and ideas.

Minimum age – 16 (unless noted)

Appropriate clothing is long pants and closed toe shoes. No open toe shoes please

No prior experience is required (unless noted)

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 7 days prior to the first day of class will receive a 100% refund.

Cancellations made 3 days prior to the first day of class will be issued a 50% refund.

In the event GHD were to cancel a class a full refund, for the class will be issued.

Liability

Students must be 18+ years of age for all beadmaking classes.

For other classes students under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign GHD's liability release form.

CHECK OUT OUR SUMMER CAMP CLASSES

Thursdays are for kids at the studio.  Macrame, Mosaics, Quilling and Sand Painting are just a few of the fantastic classes we're offering this summer and ALL are geared toward kids ages 7 and up (unless otherwise noted).  Bring the kids in for some creative fun - and stay to participate if you want!

Suncatcher

Make a 4" square suncatcher using fusible glass and lots of fun accessory glasses to decorate your suncatcher.  All glass is precut so no cutting is required.

 

Mosiac Flower Pot Thursday

Cover a 4" flowerpot with colorful glass nuggets, grout it and it's ready for plants!  Nuggets have smooth edges and no glass cutting is required. 

 

Quilled Cards Thursday

Coil and twirl long paper strips into spirals and pinch them into different shapes to make flower and animal pictures that will be glued to card stock to make beautiful cards suitable for framing.  Expect to make 2 cards

 

Edible Clay Thursday

Learn how to make yummy chocolate flavored clay, create a sculpture and then eat your creation!  Take home the recipe to make more. NOTE:  clay contains peanut butter 

Painted Rock Paperweights

Use a large pallet of acrylic paint and embellishments to decorate your paperweight and create fun designs or pictures.  Can also be used as a garden decoration.  Expect to make 2 paperweights in the class. 

 

Sand Art Bottles Thursday

Layer brightly colored sand in a decorative bottle to create lasting pictures.  A large selection of sand and bottles will be available

 

Paper Beads Thursday

Recycle all those old magazines into beautiful paper beads.  Expect to make 15 - 20 beads that you will make into necklaces or zipper pulls in class.

Knotted and Tied Jewelry

Knot and braid string in different ways to make great jewelry or key chains.  Expect to make a necklace or bracelet and key chain.  Beads from the Paper Bead Class can be used and a large assortment of beads will be provided.

Cost is based on project—Starting at $5

The studio is open every Wednesday evening for “Open Studio Night”.  No pre-registration or sign up is required.  Plan to spend about 1 hour in the studio.  All glass is precut so no glass cutting is required.  Use accessory glasses including stringers (spaghetti-like glass strings) and frit (crushed bits of glass) and other fun things to decorate your piece(s).  Samples are available for inspiration.  Cost includes all glass and kiln firings.

Children age 6 and up are welcome when accompanied by a responsible adult.

Learn to create stained glass windows using the copper foil technique or advance your current skills while working at your own pace.  This is an open class format and your are invited to come in and learn how to make your first stained glass project or work on more advanced projects of your choice.   Cost of $15 per session will include the use of all tools and personal guidance from an instructor.  Project storage is available on a first come/first served basis.  Sessions are 10:00—12:30 and 1:00—3:30.  Pre registration is required so call ahead and reserve your space.
